Sorry you'll have to turn your head on a few pictures. I can't figure out how to turn them.

Homecoming 2009 for Megan
Homecoming was last night for Megan. She went with her friend Matt (aka the tic-tac guy). They had a good time & I wanted to share photos we took before the dance. The girls heard about a waterfall at a business near their school. It took good pictures!
Sorry you'll have to turn your head on a few pictures. I can't figure out how to turn them.
Megan's cool updo was the mastery of Amy M. Thanks again Amy! It turned out great & here's a photo of the back for you.

Getting Ready to Cheer
Here's a quick photo of Megan in one of her cheerleading uniforms. This one appears to be the favorite since they wear it the most. They have 5 uniforms!! Can you believe this! At good 'ol LHS we had one, long-sleeve knit cheer sweater and a pleated skirt. I'd scan in a picture of my old uniform but it's too ugly to post :)
They also don't wear saddle shoes anymore. I know Mom, Debbie, & I wore saddle shoes to cheer. I wonder when they got wise, ditched the saddle shoes & went to white tennis shoes. Amy VG, did you wear tennis shoes for cheer or saddle shoes?

What's new with Ryan...finally!
Sorry for the delay in posting an update on Ryan. I had the pictures on my camera but didn't get them downloaded. Anyway...here's what's new with Ry:
Here's Ry getting set to go. As you can see (click on the picture & it will be full screen), SME had some big kids but their colors are baby blue so maybe that has something to do with their loss to us :)
Ryan's football team played another game this past weekend and they won 34-0. This time it was against Shawnee Mission West. The score would have been much higher but our coaches (which includes Bruce) are good about pulling back once we run the score up on a team. It was 20-0 in the first quarter of the SMW game.
Ryan is also playing baseball this fall. He's moved to a new team that plays all year. Megan took this picture of Ryan pitching in a tourney game. All our regular pitchers were exhausted so the coach had Ryan finish out the game. We got 2nd in the tourney & were behind by several runs before Ryan pitched in this championship game.
He's wearing a red t-shirt since they haven't gotten uniforms yet for the new team.
Here's the new team getting their trophies for 2nd place in the tourney. Ryan's new coach is in the white t-shirt & red hat. It's nice to have Bruce in the stands with me instead of on the field. Ryan's coach played baseball at K-State & is good at teaching the boys. He likes the new team so far & has another tourney this coming weekend.
Football -- here's Ryan getting ready for a kickoff. He's not kicking but rather on the end to run down the field and tackle the kid with the ball. We are playing Shawnee Mission East in this picture. They are our rivals and we beat them 38-0.

Happy 16th Birthday Trey!
We hope you have an enjoyable birthday Trey! A lot has changed since your 3rd birthday in 1996 so I thought it would be fun to look back in time. (I scanned these photos so the quality isn't great - sorry!)
Posing with your cake -- it was a Winnie the Pooh themed bday party. I doubt you have Winnie the Pooh involved in this year's theme to your birthday :)

Only 3 candles to blow out - big difference from 16. Better take a deep breath!

While this picture is adorable at 3 yrs old, you'd better use a napkin when eating your cake this year. That cake-all-over-the-face look doesn't bode well after 5 yrs old.
Trey & Megan looking like celebrities in their shades. I'm guessing you'll nix the party hats for this year's 16th bday celebration.

Megan's news lately...
Megan loves hanging out with her cousins & enjoyed time with them this past weekend. I thought this was a fun picture of the blond M's in the family - Mallory, Megan, & Mikiah. I apologize if I missed any other blonds or Ms. Bruce doesn't count cause he used to be blond but is now officially gray. I guess Zella & Amy VG are blonds too. We need to get you girls in the "blond" picture.
Megan loves babies and little kids. I've often thought she should teach Kindergarten cause I think she'd be good at it. Here she is playing with the amazing Z who can pull herself to a standing position without any help - just needs a little balancing.

Amy VG got this fun picture of Megan with her bag of tic-tacs. A friend asked her to the Homecoming dance by filling our mailbox with packages of tic-tacs. It was a fun idea and we are all enjoying the tic-tacs! I'll be sure to post pictures of Megan & Matt when they go to the dance in two weeks.

Megan performed in her first pep rally on Thursday. She did great & had a huge smile on her face the whole time. She certainly loves to cheer. She told me she was super nervous - even more than her first cheer competition last year. I guess it's because this was in front of her friends vs. judges.

That's Meg's friend Abbie in the picture. For those who heard the story, this is her friend with the "anger" issues. She's also a cheerleader. That's "Rocky the Raider" in the background. He's the school mascot.
Ryan is next - he has a super busy weekend so I'll have lots to report. He's got the first football game of the season on Saturday & a baseball tournament too.

A post about Bruce...
Bruce is in Vermont for work so I'm blogging about him. I can do this cause he's not here to tell me not to :)
Bruce and baby Z - our adorable 6 month old niece. He's always loved babies and Zella is very lovable - a good match!
I finally got a new camera and this was the first picture I found. Looks like Megan grabbed the camera for a close-up with Dad. I know Megan took it cause Bruce doesn't know how to work the new camera (or any camera) yet.
For anyone who thinks Bruce isn't "with it" - he says "Yo, yo...what up widt dat!"
Hawkeye boys -- Ryan and Bruce heading to a local sports bar to watch the Iowa game since it wasn't on our cable service. Ryan is basically Bruce's "mini-me" when it comes to being a Hawk fan. If Ryan didn't look so much like me, he'd be 100% a Bruce "mini-me!"
